Chorus Communications Group Ltd. (OTC Bulletin Board: CCGL), has created HBC Telecom, Inc., a new local telephone company in Winona, Minn.
Hiawatha Broadband Communications, Inc. (HBCI), Winona and Chorus Communications Group, Ltd., (CCGL), Madison, Wis., will begin delivering local exchange and long distance telephone services in the Winona and Goodview area during the upcoming calendar year operating as HBC Telecom.
HBC Telecom fully owned and operated by CCGL will utilize the state-of-the-art telecommunications cable network being constructed across the Winona area by Hiawatha Broadband Communications Inc. to deliver local telephone services.
The announcement was made by Gary W. Evans, HBCI president and CEO, and Dean W. Voeks, president and CEO of Chorus Communications Group at a press conference in Winona.
"We are excited by the involvement of Chorus Communications Group in broadening HBC product lines," Evans said. "Chorus' track record and dedication to customer service makes this an ideal affiliation."

HBCI is a privately held corporation controlled by a ten-member board of directors. In addition to director investments, a significant portion of HBCI's stock is held by Winona educational institutions. Chorus Communications Group Ltd., headquartered in Madison, is a publicly held company; its stock is traded over-the-counter under the symbol CCGL.
