NaviPath, Inc., Andover, Mass., a majority-owned operating company of CMGI, Inc., has added a high-speed access service, GeoDSL (Digital Subscriber Line), to its offering of wholesale access services. Additionally, GeoDSL is now offered as part of NaviPath's NaviOne Solution Suite, a turnkey set of private-label Internet access solutions designed to enable corporations and affinity groups to strengthen their relationships with customers, partners and/or employees. With the addition of GeoDSL, NaviPath's customers can now offer an integrated solution for both dial and broadband access services.
With GeoDSL, organizations using NaviPath's private-label Internet access solutions can now enable subscribers to access information from the Internet at speeds up to 50 times faster than current 28.8kbps solutions and up to 12 times faster than other popular "high-speed" solutions. Together with The NaviPath(TM) Technology Platform and in conjunction with NaviPath's recently announced alliance with Akamai Technologies Inc., GeoDSL allows consumers to experience high performance multimedia content and services via the Web. GeoDSL also complements GeoDial(R), NaviPath's wholesale dial-up access service offered to ISPs and enterprises, combining the speed, performance and security of DSL with the ability to use GeoDial's extensive dial-up network to access the Internet from remote locations.
"Zero Touch" Web-Ordering
NaviPath's unique systems integration enables customers to offer their subscribers an easy method of ordering DSL services online, via the Web, through an automated line qualification, order entry and provisioning system. The "Zero Touch" approach offers customers a private-branded ordering process that allows their subscribers to pre-qualify and order DSL via the Web, replete with "back office" capabilities including order status and tracking - an extension of the support services offered through the NaviOne Solution Suite.
"The addition of GeoDSL is an important enhancement to our NaviOne Solution Suite, enabling companies to offer subscribers easy-to-order, high-speed, branded Internet access," said T.C. Browne, NaviPath's CEO. "NaviPath has raised the marketplace standard by putting all of the pieces together - including order provisioning, comprehensive billing and customer care - to enable organizations to provide branded Internet access to their interest groups across dial-up, ISDN and DSL connections."
"One Account" Access
The NaviOne services feature a "One Account" architecture that enables users to maintain a single identity as access types and service options change and/or broaden. Through this approach, companies may offer subscribers the ability to maintain a single user identity, including user name, passwords and email addresses, across multiple access methods. In addition, the NaviOne Solution Suite adds subscriber management, information services, billing and customer care services to provide a high-quality, turnkey access offering.
Availability
GeoDSL services are available now and start in the mid-$40's per user, depending on volume. The services are available nationwide, with coverage of more than 35 million homes and businesses in major Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs).
