Integris, Billerica, Mass., the telecommunications division of Bull, has been selected by IDS Telecom, a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) based in Miami, Fla., for the procurement, installation and integration of a complete billing solution. Integris' solution includes the integration of the Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) system from MaxBill, an innovative provider of cost-effective CC&B solutions for the converging telecommunications and utilities industries.
Under the contract, Integris will define, install and integrate an NT-based billing solution based on the MaxBill CC&B system, which has gained popularity with CLECs in Europe and is now being recognized in North America. Integris and MaxBill recently announced that the two companies would pursue joint market opportunities with MaxBill as a preferred CC&B partner of Integris.
IDS Telecom, now with more than 15,000 customers, selected Integris' solution to replace the service bureau-based billing package previously used by IDS. The new solution will handle IDS' inter-carrier and retail billing activities.
"We had simply outgrown our service bureau system," said Michael Noshay, President of IDS Telecom, "We are adding products and services to our offering seemingly every day. We needed a system that we could use now, as well as one that would grow with us as we move forward. The integrated package that Integris proposed, including MaxBill's CC&B system, fit the bill perfectly."
"This win proves that our approach and partnerships are right for the U.S. market," said Jean-Marie Lalanne, Director of Integris Telecommunications in North America. "Integris' experience in the telecommunications industry, together with MaxBill's innovative CC&B system, is the right match to meet IDS' needs. We have set the stage to make great strides with our services and MaxBill's products - a winning combination for the CLEC market."
"This is an important strategic first for the Integris-MaxBill partnership," said Yuval Brisker, MaxBill's Managing Director, North American Operations. "Winning a project in our target market so soon after the formation of our partnership with Integris successfully positions the combination of Integris and MaxBill to effectively take advantage of the exciting opportunities in the CLEC market."
