MOBILESTAR EXTENDS BROADBAND WIRELESS INTERNET COVERAGE.(Company Business and Marketing)

MobileStar Network Corporation, Richardson, Texas, a leading broadband Internet service provider, has signed an agreement to provide broadband wireless Internet access throughout two highly traveled regional airports - Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport, in California, and Sioux Falls Regional Airport, in South Dakota. By late spring, busy passengers will be able to access their corporate Intranet and search the Internet anywhere in the airport by using a WLAN card in their laptop, pocket PC or PDA.

"Airport partnerships serve as the backbone of our network growth. Those such as Burbank and Sioux Falls are important regional hubs that serve approximately 5.4 million business travelers per year," said Laurie Livingston, vice president of site development for MobileStar. "The wireless services provided by MobileStar will allow these travelers to get online at speeds up to 50 times faster than with a traditional dial-up connection and at rates similar to a T-1 connection providing them the tools they need to get work done on the road."

Burbank Airport served 4.7 million passengers in 2000 and is anticipating significant increases in business travelers as more professionals are forced to take their work on the road.

"MobileStar provides an excellent service to our customer base - busy travelers who have to stay connected," said Dios Marrero, executive director of the Burbank Airport Authority. "Our goal is first rate service and complete customer satisfaction, and MobileStar is an important element in our ability to deliver just that."

Sioux Falls Regional Airport also expects increased traffic and growth in 2001 and is an early-adopter in recognizing the need to provide mobile professionals broadband Internet access outside of the home and office in locations along the travel ribbon.

"Offering broadband wireless access through the airport will enhance customer productivity and ultimately customer satisfaction," said Michael Marnach, executive director of Sioux Falls Regional Airport. "MobileStar will allow business travelers to stay connected and productive without the typical hassles associated with data ports, dial-up connections and mobile phones."

MobileStar offers an unparalleled network for broadband, wireless Internet access and maintains the largest wireless footprint in the U.S. Currently approximately 170 locations are in operation providing easy-to-use, reliable wireless Internet connectivity at speeds up to 50 times faster than typical dial-up modem connections and up to 100 times faster than other current wireless technologies. The MobileStar network is accessible in frequently traveled business locations. Current locations include airports, American Airlines Admirals Clubs, hotels, conference centers, and restaurants. MobileStar plans to expand its footprint to include Starbucks coffeehouse locations nationwide.
