TALK2/TORNADO OFFER INTEGRATED TELCO PRODUCTS.

Talk2 Technology, Inc., the infrastructure solutions company for carriers and other communication providers, has announced full integration with unified messaging/communication products from Tornado Development, a leading provider of carrier-grade Unified Messaging/Unified Communication (UM/UC) technology. With this partnership, telecommunications carriers can present their customers with new messaging and content delivery services such as hands-free, voice-enabled unified messaging/communication by using Talk2 with Tornado's UM/UC engine. In addition, Talk2 and Tornado will work together as channel partners to build advanced voice services directly into carrier networks using Talk2's ViPrNET(TM) infrastructure and Tornado Messenger(TM), Tornado's UM/UC engine.

Built from the ground up, the Tornado Messenger UM/UC platform is specifically designed for broad deployment over the Internet, wireless and telecommunications networks. Tornado's advanced architecture provides unmatched scalability and manageability, enabling telcos and service providers to deliver UM/UC to millions of subscribers on a very cost-efficient basis. With the recent release of the company's LightWeight Development Kit (LDK), Tornado allows for rapid development and integration of new features, as market demand evolves.

"The partnership with Tornado further enhances Talk2's ability to offer telco carriers the ability to rapidly deliver new voice-enabled communication services while leveraging their existing networks and customer bases," said Talk2 CEO Omar Leeman. "The speed with which Talk2 integrated Tornado's best-of-breed unified messaging capability demonstrates both of our superior capabilities in providing carriers with instant competitive advantage."

Talk2's voice infrastructure enables carriers to cost effectively rollout advanced voice applications within their network. It is massively scalable and capable of supporting tens-of-millions-of users thanks to its proprietary ViPrNET (pronounced "Vipernet") architecture. ViPrNET is a flexible, component-based technology that runs within the carrier's network on high performance Unix-based computing platforms interconnected with high bandwidth transport. Talk2's "inside the network" architecture cost effectively makes voice-enabled services available to the entire network. The tremendous scalability and functionality of the system is possible because Talk2's infrastructure is compatible with the carrier's existing transport and control and interacts with the network using native signaling. Consequently, Talk2's infrastructure can be integrated with traditional circuit switched networks or emerging packet switched networks using VoIP.

"We think Talk2's ViPrNET infrastructure is at the pinnacle of the industry," said Kevin Torf, chief technology officer and chairman of Tornado Development. "The tremendous scalability and functionality of both of the companies' systems provides the ideal solution for carrier-class service providers."

Tornado Development provides a unified messaging/communication platform to telcos, wireless providers, ISPs, ASPs and portals. In its 4th Generation, Tornado Messenger offers end-users access to all of their messages from standard and cellular telephones, personal computers, web browsers, wireless handsets and PDAs. Tornado Messenger enables service providers to increase revenues, improve customer retention and develop new markets. Research firm Ovum Ltd. predicts the UM market will expand to 25 million mailboxes by year 2003. Tornado Development's customers include Global Crossing, Telekom Malaysia, OfficeMax, Network Services, Prosten and Vivao.
