As the world's first wireless phone with built-in downloadable music capabilities, the Uproar allows consumers to download MP3 files from their computer directly onto the handset via a USB data cable. The Uproar is available now at TELUS Mobility retail locations across Canada.

Weighing in at just over 5 ounces (142 grams) with extended battery, the extremely small, lightweight phone comes loaded with features. The Uproar combines the latest in music technology with advanced features offered through Samsung and TELUS Mobility to create a four-in-one wireless phone. Not only does the Uproar allow users to play virtually any file in MP3 format, the phone also serves as an Internet portal and personal organizer. The phone comes with a five-line display and microbrowser that allows clients to surf TELUS Mobility's Pocket Web services.

While the Uproar's MP3 player is active, customers hear a beep to alert them of an incoming call. Consumers can choose to either take the call or continue to listen to their audio files. The Uproar's built-in Flash Memory holds more than an hour of CD-quality music that can be heard through a headset remote that comes packaged with the phone.

For those on-the-go clients that use their wireless phone as a productivity or business tool, the Uproar offers up to five minutes of voice memo. In addition, Uproar users can send and retrieve e-mails directly from the handset with Phone.com's UP Browser 3.1.

The Uproar comes standard with voice-activated dialing in English and French, which allows users to simply say the name of the person they would like to call.

The address book contains more than 200 phone book entries allowing up to six entries for each contact. The Uproar also features a Personal Information Organizer (PIO) that allows the user to input to-do-lists and store important dates as well as set appointments. The T9 text input software allows the user to save time when using the organizer by serving as a predictive speller.

The Uproar includes an extended lithium ion battery. In the CDMA 1900 MHz mode, the extended battery provides five hours of talk time and 225 hours of standby time. The battery provides a pure play-time in digital standby of more than 10 hours (with no calls).
