MEXICO CITY -- Supporters of Mexico's indigenous tribes launched a serious of protests to demonstrate against the enactment of a controversial indigenous rights law. The law took effect this week amid anger from tribes that said the final law significantly altered a proposal that many had originally supported. The EZLN rebels in Chiapas state blocked some roads and accused the government of sending troops into parts of the state that had been demilitarized earlier this year.
