CARACAS -- Food prices have risen more than 31% over the past two years, according to the Central Bank. Inflation during the same period was just 26%. Bank officials say they are concerned about the report because it indicates that prices for basic products continue to rise faster than inflation. This means that the economic crisis continues to have a more significant impact on the country's poor.
