ITXC SNARCs are ITXC-owned and operated IP telephony equipment co-located at a qualified, licensed carrier's premises. Over 30 tier one and incumbent carriers around the world connect to ITXC.net(SM) via ITXC SNARCs including Cable & Wireless Optus, Cotas/Teledata, Ghana Telecom, Interoute, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co., SotelTchad, Telenor, and Zimbabwe Posts & Telecommunications Corp.

ITXC is the largest US-based global carrier dedicated exclusively to carrying voice and fax calls on behalf of other carriers. ITXC has permanently changed the economics of international long distance by establishing and operating ITXC.net, which provides carrier-grade quality over the Internet to and from 727 PoPs in more than 140 countries.
ITXC SNARCs convert calls between circuit-switched and IP format. SNARCs enable carriers to quickly and easily connect to ITXC.net to receive competitive rates for phone calls they send over ITXC.net and earn additional revenue for completing phone calls from around the world.
They allow carriers, no matter where they are in the world, to enjoy the reach and rates that could previously only be realized by provisioning expensive, backhaul circuits to the nearest major switching location such as New York or London. SNARCs eliminate both the cost and provisioning delays associated with traditional backhaul and extend ITXC.net directly to the carrier premises.

On May 25, 1999, ITXC began offering the ITXC SNARC program to licensed carriers who wanted to originate calls onto ITXC.net. The ability to complete calls from ITXC.net with an ITXC SNARC began in August of 2000. Now many carriers use ITXC SNARCs to both originate and terminate phone calls via ITXC.net.
