BellSouth (NYSE: BLS) has announced that EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC) has been selected to provide information storage systems and software solutions to Web hosting and enterprise customers for BellSouth(R) Managed Storage Services.
In October 2001, BellSouth announced its Storage-Enabled Network (SEN) framework, which represents the future of data storage solutions and builds on BellSouth's reliable and redundant e-Platform strategy.
"The SEN framework will serve our customers' current and future data management needs that extend beyond basic, on-site solutions," said Jai Menon, BellSouth's executive vice president of Applications, Strategy and Product Innovation. "BellSouth Managed Storage Services offers customers a comprehensive solution managed around the clock by network professionals. With access to EMC's leading storage solutions, our customers will now be able to take advantage of a complete set of information management, protection and sharing tools."

In addition, EMC and BellSouth will collaborate in the on-going development of storage technology including the planning and go-to-market process and provide key technical resources to develop differentiated services based on an EMC E-Infostructure and the BellSouth data network.
BellSouth has utilized EMC solutions since 1995 for its IT infrastructure.
