Mitsubishi Motors Will Enter Canadian Market.(Brief Article)

Mitsubishi Motors Corp. said it will enter the Canadian market this Fall to strengthen its North American presence. It would market vehicles exported from plants in Japan, the U.S. and Australia, aiming to sell about 20,000 units in the country in 2003 and 37,000 units in 2007.

For the move, the company will establish 51 sales bases in Canada by early 2003, expanding the number to 150 by 2007.

The automaker sold a record 322,000 vehicles in the U.S. last year, up 3 per cent from 2000. It plans to market the eight models in Canada and introduce three more in North America.
