Philips Speech Processing, a business unit of Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE:PHG) and a global leader in speech recognition technology, has introduced Enterprise Voice Dialing(TM), the latest offering in the company's suite of leading corporate voice dialing products.
Designed for large organizations with 100,000 or more employees, Enterprise Voice Dialing functions as a voice-driven auto attendant, eliminating hold times and saving callers the hassle of remembering extensions or correct name spellings by allowing them to quickly reach people or departments simply by speaking their request.
"By eliminating frustrating hold times, or the aggravation of navigating complex, touch-tone menus, Philips Enterprise Voice Dialing enables large organizations to significantly raise the level of customer care they provide," said Frank Caris, president of the Dallas-based telephony division of Philips Speech Processing. "Enterprise Voice Dialing also helps organizations increase productivity and reduce operating costs by streamlining internal communications and freeing operators to handle more complex, customer-facing issues.
"The addition of this robust, enterprise edition to our existing suite of corporate voice dialing products, along with our patented Personal Voice Dialing system offered to consumers through wireless carriers, further strengthens Philips' leadership position in the high-growth voice-dialing market," added Caris.
Philips Enterprise Voice Dialing is part of the company's complete family of corporate voice dialing products, which includes Small Business and Standard editions, providing capacity for 10,000 and 20,000 names, respectively. Operating on the Windows/2000(R) platform and using Intel(R) processors, Enterprise Voice Dialing supports in excess of 100,000 names, and easily scales to support a virtually unlimited number of names.
While large organizations across all corporate industries can benefit from Enterprise Voice Dialing, the financial services, education and healthcare markets are particularly well suited for this technology due to their large number of employees and high customer call volumes. A selection of the company's corporate voice dialing customers includes Merrill Lynch, New York Life, Aetna, Johnson & Johnson, Universal Studios, St. Vincent's Hospital, Parkview Medical, Mt. Carmel Hospital, Kent State University, Pepperdine University, Stephens Institute of Technology and Morehouse College.
Philips Speech Processing has more than 20 years' experience in the development and deployment of corporate voice-dialing solutions and has more than 300 voice dialing systems installed nationwide. Philips' speech products support more than 30 languages, including U.S. English, U.S. Spanish, Latin American Spanish, U.K. English, Dutch, German, Russian, Swiss German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Greek, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, Japanese, Mandarin and more.
