SPX Contech Signs $8 Million Agreement To Supply Jeep Grand Cherokee Steering Housing.

SPX Corp. said that its Contech business has been selected as the source for an $8 million annual contract to supply components on the next generation Jeep Grand Cherokee produced by DaimlerChrysler.

Under the terms of the 6-year agreement, Contech will supply fully machined aluminum die-cast rack and pinion housings for the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Production begins in July 2004.

James Peters, President of SPX Contech said, "We are extremely pleased to have this vote of confidence from our new customer. Contech is the global leader in one-piece rack and pinion housings and this contract highlights our expanding presence in value added engineered casting solutions."

Contech is a high quality manufacturer of aluminum, magnesium and zinc close tolerance, complex die-cast components. Contech supplies the global motor vehicle industry with lightweight high strength components.
