SPX Corp. said that its Contech business has been selected as the
source for an $8 million annual contract to supply components on the
next generation Jeep Grand Cherokee produced by DaimlerChrysler.
Under the terms of the 6-year agreement, Contech will supply fully
machined aluminum die-cast rack and pinion housings for the Jeep Grand
Cherokee. Production begins in July 2004.

contract highlights our expanding presence in value added engineered
casting solutions."
Contech is a high quality manufacturer of aluminum, magnesium and
zinc close tolerance, complex die-cast components. Contech supplies the
global motor vehicle industry with lightweight high strength components.
