Delphi Corp. Awarded New Safety Restraint
Business.
Delphi Corp. received a $160-million contract to provide safety
restraints systems to a "major" North American automaker,
starting with the client's luxury models in 2005. Delphi
didn't name the customer, but said the client wasn't its
former parent, General Motors Corp.
Delphi's non-GM business accounted for 36 percent of the
$27.43 billion in revenue generated for 2002. Delphi said it agreed to
supply driver and passenger airbags, steering wheels and seat belts
under the new contract.
