Mediatrix Telecom, Inc., a leader in Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) access technology, has launched the Mediatrix Converged Enterprise Telephony solution.
The Mediatrix Converged Enterprise Telephony solution is a CPE-based end-to-end VoIP application that leverages the capacity of existing enterprise VPNs to carry voice and fax traffic from legacy devices, PBX and Key Systems on a converged IP-based network.
The solution, which includes Mediatrix' award-winning gateways, access devices, IP Communication Server and Unit Manager Network, allows enterprises to bypass toll charges between remote sites and generates savings on trunk and line costs as well.
"The Mediatrix Converged Enterprise Telephony solution represents an excellent entry point for enterprises wishing to immediately take advantage of the cost savings of VoIP, while preserving their investment in their existing CPE," stated Marc Shapiro, VP Marketing, Mediatrix. "The solution comes in at a very attractive price point and can significantly improve the ROI on the existing corporate VPN."
The Mediatrix Converged Enterprise Telephony solution includes all the IP telephony elements that are needed to converge legacy phones, faxes and systems using an existing VPN. Many enterprises are currently using only a portion of the bandwidth available on their VPN. By carrying intra-corporate voice and fax traffic over IP, bandwidth is optimized and enterprises leverage more of the costs associated with operating their corporate VPN.
An added benefit of the Mediatrix Converged Enterprise solution is the ability to transition to IP telephony without forcing a change in user habits. Since existing equipment is maintained, end-users continue to work as they always have. Additionally, system setup and operation is facilitated since there is no need to conduct interoperability tests on the IP telephony side with third party equipment.
To simplify ordering and installation, Mediatrix is offering start-up packages to suit a variety of business needs. Additional components can be purchased separately as the network expands. Start-up packages include:
-- Combined Start-Up CET: designed to provide IP connectivity to analog PBXs on the line or trunk side, and/or to CO line ports of a Key System. It features one Mediatrix 1104, one Mediatrix 1204, Mediatrix IP Communication Server license for 20 users, a demo version of the Mediatrix Unit Manager Network, plus accessories.
-- Double 1104 Start-Up CET: suits applications where IP connectivity is provided to analog CO line ports or analog CO trunk ports. It features two Mediatrix 1104 units, Mediatrix IP Communication Server license for 20 users, a demo version of the Mediatrix Unit Manager Network, plus accessories.
