Metaldyne Looks To Manufacture in
China.
Autoparts Report • March 19, 2003 • MascoTech Inc. opens office in Shanghai,
China
Metaldyne said that it has opened an office in Shanghai, China, as
a prelude to establishing a manufacturing presence in the country. The
office will support the development of the company's sales,
technical and manufacturing capability in the country, as well as a
purchasing activity to support Metaldyne's global material
requirements, the company said.
"The new office is a logical step for Metaldyne, as the
Asia-Pacific region is becoming an increasingly important growth area
for our company," said Tim Leuliette, chairman, president and CEO.
"Because of the strong economic growth projections for the
region and the attractive economic environment, China will play a larger
role as a customer for our products and as a supplier of our
materials." Fuping Liu, chief representative, Metaldyne China, will
head the activity.
