Asia's largest telco, independent Internet Communications Service Provider, Pacific Internet or PacNet (NASDAQ:PCNTF), Singspore, has announced that its subsidiary in the Philippines recently launched its newest broadband service, Pacific Internet DSL, in partnership with GlobeQuest, the data and Internet arm of Globe Telecom.
Under their marketing agreement, Pacific Internet Philippines will use GlobeQuest's network in providing its subscribers DSL services. DSL will provide Pacific Internet subscribers, whose needs are getting more demanding and sophisticated, increased productivity, cost savings, and less downtime through a much faster, ''always on'', and reliable connection to the Internet. They will now be able to upload and download bandwidth-intensive applications, such as video, at much faster speeds.
"We are happy to embark on this partnership with GlobeQuest as it will afford our subscribers a wider range of options in the kind of Internet connectivity appropriate to their needs and budgets, especially those in small and medium enterprises," said Jojie S. Yap, president of Pacific Internet Philippines. "We look forward to more effectively serving the broadband needs of our loyal subscribers who have been with us since dial-up but who now would like to upgrade to broadband."
Pacific Internet said that the company welcomes the opportunity to go along with GlobeQuest in its efforts to continually upgrade the quality of its services to its subscribers nationwide, both in the corporate and individual- user sectors.
Pacific Internet DSL is initially available in Makati, Pasig, Marikina, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Cebu, Cavite, and Batangas.
