COLOMBIA TELECOMUNICACIONES (TELECOM), Colombia's state-owned telephone company, bought for US$94.4 million control of Barranquilla Telecomunicaciones, another state-owned phone company. The deal gives Telecom 135,000 telephone lines and makes it the biggest operator on Colombia's Caribbean coast.
