Marketed by the company's subsidiary, Duramed Pharmaceuticals, Inc., the contraceptive reduces the risk of pregnancy by 89% after a single act of unprotected sex if taken within 72 hours, according to the manufacturer. The drug is not be dispensed OTC to individuals 17 years of age or younger.
