Federal minimum wage increases.
The federal minimum wage is set to increase $2.10 over the next two
years. The increase is in effect or will take effect as follows:
* July 24, 2007, federal minimum wage increases to $5.85 per hour
* July 24, 2008, federal minimum wage increases to $6.55 per hour
* The final increase (to $7.25 per hour) will take place in 2009
Employers are required to display a sign explaining the Fair Labor
Standards Act (FLSA) in a noticeable location in all of their
establishments. A new poster explaining the minimum wage increase is
available from the Department of Labor at:
