Clippz.com, Princeton, N.J., the world's first and only way to
sideload optimized videos from the Internet to a mobile device, has
announced a new initiative that will take mobile video advertising in a
new and never before seen direction: sideways.
Powered by the Clippz Software Suite, Clippz.com (www.clippz.com)
now offers the opportunity to attach high quality advertisements to the
full inventory of Clippz.com's mobile video clips. Ads can be
inserted pre- or post-clip and formatted for optimum playback on any
mobile device. Clippz.com content is delivered to users off-carrier by
sideloading to cell phone or media player directly from a PC or Mac.
The result: Clippz.com opens the door for advertisers to distribute
high quality video to cell phones and media players at no cost to the
consumer, and the consumer can view the content free from the irritation
that comes with paying to receive advertising.
"Sideloading can take mobile video advertising where it has
never gone before - directly to the consumer without the intermediation
of a mobile carrier network," said Philip John, founder and CEO of
Clippz.com. "Clippz.com gives advertisers the potential to reach
massive audiences and their mobile devices, at quality levels that are
completely out of range for mobile carriers."
Clippz.com deploys proprietary, patent-pending technology to
deliver the highest level of video quality currently available.
Advertisements can be inserted, rotated and targeted "on the
fly" per device or content category, or based on geodemographics.
For example, a Clippz.com user in the US who requests an .MP4 file for
an iPod receives a locally targeted, iPod-optimized video advertisement
inserted into the requested content. Similarly, a Motorola Razr V3 user
in the UK could get an ad inserted in 3GP format and optimized for the
device and a European audience.
Ads can be additionally targeted by the search keywords used to
find the Clippz.com site, or by search keywords used to find a clip
within the site, thus creating the opportunity for multiple targeting by
content, device type and geography.
Unlike other video download sites, Clippz.com enables users to get
video clips that have been pre-converted into their specific mobile
device's optimum file format. Once downloaded, video clips can be
sideloaded to a mobile device one of three ways: via wireless connection
using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi; by USB cable connection; or by writing
directly to a memory card that can be inserted into the device. With
access to the online video downloading market, advertisers can deliver
content straight into the hands of consumers.
Supporting multiple download formats to more than 250 specific
mobile video players including cell phones, PDAs and portable media
devices, Clippz.com customizes mobile advertising, creating the
opportunity to reach mobile device users worldwide, regardless of which
mobile carrier they use.
With nearly 3 billion cell phone users in the world and more than
200 million in the U.S., mobile advertising is growing at a dramatic
rate. Mobile advertising sales in the U.S. reached $421 million in 2006
(according to research by eMarketer) and about $871 million worldwide
(UK-based Informa Telecoms & Media). Tomorrow, the sky's the
limit with estimates for mobile ad spending in the U.S. soaring to $5
billion by 2011 (eMarketer).
