CAC representatives meet PA Governor Rendell.

At the invitation of PA Department of Agriculture (PDA) Secretary Dennis Wolff, members of the Community Awareness Committee (CAC) were invited to attend a special legislative session called by PA Governor Edward J. Rendell in September. The session focused on energy independence. CAC Executive Director Gene Richard and Dave Tranquillo, Giorgi Mushroom Co., attended as representatives of the mushroom farm community. CAC has used funds from a PDA grant to explore energy options using spent mushroom substrate. After the General Assembly session, Richard and Tranquillo had the opportunity to meet Governor Rendell.
