EDS, Plano, Texas, a leading global information technology services
company, has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders quadrant in
the 4Q07 "Data Center Outsourcing Services, Western Europe Magic
Quadrant"(i) report.
Gartner, a leading analyst firm, considers companies positioned in
the Leaders quadrant as "performing skillfully. They have a clear
vision of the market's direction and are developing competencies to
maintain their leadership. They shape the market rather than follow
it."
"EDS began delivering outsourced data center services 45 years
ago, and it remains a staple of our business today," said Ray
Cline, vice president of EDS' Infrastructure service line. "We
continue to invest and grow our capabilities while making process
improvements to ensure our clients receive world-class service. We are
pleased that Gartner placed EDS in the leaders quadrant of this
important area of our business."
EDS was one of 12 data center outsourcing providers evaluated in
the report. According to the report "Gartner evaluated these
providers on the quality and efficacy of their processes, systems,
methods and procedures that enable each provider's performance to
be competitive and effective, while positively affecting revenue,
retention and reputation."
Earlier this year, EDS also EDS received the highest rating
possible -- a "Strong Positive" -- in Gartner's
"MarketScope for Data Center Outsourcing, North America,
2007."(ii)
EDS manages more than 100 data centers around the world. EDS
continues to enhance its data center resources through standardization,
improved power efficiency and a strong commitment to zero outages. Each
data center is part of the EDS Global Services Network, a highly
scalable network that provides a common, secure method for clients to
access services hosted within EDS facilities with the capability to
easily shift work loads from one part of the EDS network to another. EDS
data center services include mainframe and server hosting, data center
modernization, storage, Web and enterprise applications hosting.
