A GAMBLER appeared at Newcastle Crown Court accused of killing a
bookmaker.
Trevor Hall, 36, was in court charged with the manslaughter of
Jeffrey Hilland after an alleged row over a late night bet.
Mr Hilland, 52, of South Moor, near Stanley, collapsed after a
confrontation in Pagebet in Front Street, Pelton, near
Chester-le-Street, and died four days later.
Hall of Hilda Terrace, Chester-le-Street, was remanded on bail and
the case was adjourned for a plea and case management hearing on October
31. A trial date has been provisionally fixed for January 5.
