International Day

Saturday, October 6, 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

Renaissance Harborplace Hotel

Join your colleagues from around the world at this year's international forum, sponsored by the International Relations Committee in conjunction with the ICA-SAE Steering Committee. This special day will focus on education about meeting the challenge of managing records and archives in the new digital global arena. Created especially for international attendees, the program will feature an opening session followed by a roundtable discussion of global issues. Afterward, discuss RIM issues worldwide at the networking reception.

ICRM Conference Activities

Sunday, October 7

The Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) invites all interested parties to participate in the following meetings and activities. All events will be held at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel.

ICRM Graders Forum, 3:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Are you interested in grading Part VI exams, or do you have questions about how this critical process takes place? Are you a current grader? loin Janis Wilson, CRM, in a discussion about the challenges of and opportunities for contributing as a grader.

Professional Certification in Records Management, 3:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Steve Whitaker will introduce the ICRM and the examination process.

ICRM Ask the Board Session, 4:15 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

Members of the ICRM Board of Regents will be available to respond to your questions on examination development, testing, administration, certification maintenance, and more.

ICRM Business Meeting and Reception, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

ICRM will conduct its annual business meeting, followed by a reception.

Poster Sessions

Monday, October 8, 1:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

Poster sessions are an innovative way for facilitators to communicate more intimately with conference attendees, providing a quick way to learn about a project, case-study, or new research. Less formal than traditional breakout sessions, poster sessions facilitate a relaxed dialogue between presenter and attendee that can be tailored to the specific interest of the attendee. See the Monday conference agenda grid for session descriptions.

Mini-Sedona Conference Panel Discussion

Tuesday, October 9, 8:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

This session will be an interactive dialogue with some of the leading minds in the legal and records management fields about the impact of electronic records on the discovery process. Participants will be asked to review the latest release of The Sedona Guidelines in advance of the session and to be prepared to engage in open dialogue with other participants and the session faculty.

NOTE: Seating is limited to 70 attendees and will be on a first-come, first- served basis.

Federal Government Day

ERM, ERA, and ARCIS: From Vision to Reality

As our government's recordkeepers, federal records managers and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) are charged with ensuring all records, including electronic records, are managed efficiently and effectively. The Fed Day 2007 program will focus on electronic records management and emphasize major NARA electronic systems--the Electronic Records Archives (ERA) and the Archives and Records Centers Information System (ARCIS)--that will be operational in 2007-08.
