HerbaKraft exposes beauty benefits of Litchi.

Household & Personal Products Industry • Sept, 2008 • MarketWatch

Litchi seed extract is the main constituent of Replenne, a new dietary supplement and cosmeceutical product from HerbaKraft, Inc., Piscataway, NJ. Litchi seed is native to southern China where it has been cultivated and used as a therapeutic aid for over 3000 years. Litchis are evergreen subtropical trees that produce round stone fruits that turn a deep red color when ripe. But it is the litchi seed or litchi core that is most commonly used for medicinal purposes. According to the company, the seed extract contains saponin, tannin, leucocyanidin, anthocyanin and other active polyphenols, which exhibit free radical-scavenging capabilities, and these constituents have been found to inhibit the activity of collagenase, hyaluronidase and elastase, thereby preventing fine lines and wrinkles, promoting skin rejuvenation, and preventing hyperpigmentation from excess melanin. In addition, HerbaKraft claims litchi can increase the moisture in skin after just three weeks of oral administration.
