Copart, Inc. said that it has opened its 100th U.S. auction
facility, located in Ft. Pierce, Florida. With the addition of this
54-acre greenfield facility Copart now has 100 locations in 40 states,
with six locations in Florida.
"The new facility will allow us to better serve our suppliers
in central eastern Florida. Previously this area was served by our West
Palm Beach and Orlando facilities, which are over two hours away during
commute hours,"said Willis J. Johnson, Copart's Chief
Executive Officer.
Since August 2002, Copart has added six locations including two
sites in West Mifflin, PA and Richmond, VA and four Copart salvage sites
in Reno, NV; Springfield, MO; Corpus Christi, TX and Ft. Pierce, FL.
Copart, founded in 1982, provides vehicle suppliers, primarily
insurance companies, with a full range of services to process and sell
salvage vehicles through auctions, principally to licensed vehicle
dismantlers, rebuilders, repair licensees and used vehicle dealers.
Copart operates 100 facilities in 40 states. It also provides
services in other locations through its national network of independent
salvage vehicle processors.
