About the VC 100

The VC 100 list of top early-stage venture capital firms is based on data from PitchBook. The firms were ranked by total capital invested in seed and/or early stage venture capital deals that were completed in the U.S. during 2013. This ranking only accounts for companies headquartered in the U.S.

The PitchBook Platform's research process begins with a daily systematic review of thousands of news and public filing sources. This data is then confirmed, clarified and refined through direct communication with key contacts at target companies, investors, limited partners, and professional service providers.
