Advertising on Facebook can be a useful way for many companies to land new customers and increase sales. But don't even think about advertising on the big social media site without having a plan in place first, says Entrepreneur writer Mikal Belicove. He recommends taking these steps before you get started:
1. Set a budget for a specific amount of time the ad will run.
2. Determine what your message -- what it is you're trying to communicate -- will be.
3. Know who you're trying to target with your message.
