While speaking to Entrepreneur India on how very few startups can take the agenda of India's need for power forward, Simarpreet Singh, the Founder and Director of Hartek Solar spoke at length about how Hartek Group is working on it.

Started by Singh's father in 1991, Hartek Group was started off with the electrical trading business way back. The group operates through five strategic business units- power systems, solar solutions, power distribution, fuel services and value added services.

"The very first venture that I started was Hartek India, which manufactures electrical switch board panels to solve the problem to transmission distribution losses. So that was the product that we manufactured. The second venture was the venture I was very much inspired by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. That led to the formation of Hartek Solar, which is India's leading rooftop solar companies," Singh tells Entrepreneur India.

The Group sets up the entire solar panel system, commonly called the engineering procurement construction Or the EPC.

Singh believes that all EPC companies should ensure entire solution be given to the end user.

"The consumer at the end of the day doesn't bother about whether you are installing the solar panel; customers want companies that provide 360-degree solutions for solar panel installation. That's our USP," explains Singh.

Watch his detailed video interview to know more about Hartek Group's vision for India, and Singh's belief in the government's initiatives.
