Right now, somewhere in Los Angeles or New York, or just about anywhere in between, someone you would really like to know better-a financier, say, or a prospective customer--is sitting in a cab in the middle of a traffic jam using their mobile phone to post on Facebook that they are sitting in a cab in the middle of a traffic jam with nothing better to do. Wouldn't you rather they be looking at your mobile-friendly website?

 

Mobile Skype
The coalescence of phone and internet just ramped up speed. Skype, the wildly popular VoIP service owned by eBay, launched an app for iPhone and BlackBerry this spring. It allows users to log in to their Skype account, see who's online and make free calls to other Skype users (and cheap calls to international landlines) so long as they're within range of a Wi-Fi network.
