When it comes to being a great leader, there’s no secret formula or one-size-fits-all playbook. But there are some important things to keep in mind when aspiring to be the best boss you can be.

No matter what your management style, there are things that all leaders should do to create a productive and creative work environment.

For instance, great leaders face challenges head on and win the trust of co-workers by having their best interests at heart. You can earn respect and loyalty by being open to new perspectives.  You never know where the next great idea will come from. 

If an employee makes a mistake, use it as a learning opportunity and don't act from a place of anger or frustration. While decision-making can be difficult, it can come easier if you aren't pretending to be something you're not.
