Want different tools? Software development for the Palm operating system is in full bloom, with hundreds of little companies churning out code, much of it surprisingly good, almost all available for free trials. The only reservation: With limited memory, a Palm can hold only so many programs. How many? I've added a dozen and probably have space for three or four more before I begin gobbling up room I need for storing addresses, data files and the like. That's good news, though, because the lesson is that there's ample capacity to make a Palm yours. Where to find the apps you'll crave?
