More Than Money and Success, Dad Says Family Comes First Real-estate entrepreneur Mike Namer on learning everything about business and life from his father.

When you ask real-estate entrepreneur Mike Namer about his father, and how he was instrumental to his business endeavors, he says it was his dad's example that taught him to be a good person and put his family first.

Namer recalls that his father – an entrepreneur himself who moved his family to the U.S. from Cuba in the early 1960s – always took the family on weekend trips. "That always stays in my heart," says Namer, founder and principal of the Manhattan building company, Alfa Development and owner of HGU NYC.

"You make money, you lose money, at the end of the day you're alive," he adds. "You have your head, you have your brain and you can re-do it all again. That's basically what entrepreneurship is about."
