Duke Energy (DUK) closed the most recent trading day at $102.97, moving -0.18% from the previous trading session. This change lagged the S&P 500's 0.62% gain on the day. Elsewhere, the Dow gained 0.55%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq lost 0.03%.

Coming into today, shares of the electric utility had gained 2.97% in the past month. In that same time, the Utilities sector gained 3.31%, while the S&P 500 gained 0.39%.
