While it might be comforting to know almost any megachain hotelis going to be the same whether you're in Miami or Milwaukee,you may find more bang for your travel buck, plus somethingregional or unique, at smaller chains.
Affinia Hospitality, a group of nine reasonably priced all-suitehotels in New York City, is still managed by the Denihan family,whose patriarch started the chain in 1962. Nearly all the suites inits nine properties are surprisingly spacious (givenManhattan's reputation for matchbook-size hotel rooms) andinclude large work areas as well as kitchen facilities.
