Currently conducting beta-testing, plans to release ane-commerce framework to customers and developers later this yearthat analysts say will help make it much easier for entrepreneursto conduct -to-business with their tradingpartners and suppliers.

The framework is expected to have a major impact on the waycompanies communicate with each other because it helps automate thetransmission of documents commonly used in business. Whileelectronic data interchange (EDI) has been around for years, ithasn't been widely embraced by many smaller companies becauseof its considerable expense. Microsoft plans to change all that bymaking its new automated system affordable to a wider range ofcompanies, both large and small.
