From homeoffices to hotel rooms, technology is the wind beneath yourbusiness wings, the premium gasoline in your work tank, thefoundation of your building--you get the idea. Slews of laptops,wireless solutions, remote software and cell phones await your use.But with so many options, how do you choose which technologies willwork best to keep your business running smoothly, even if yourworkers and offices are separated by many miles?
Often, you're advised to go talk to your peers with growingbusinesses who are dealing with similar issues. That's a greatidea, so we talked to some for you. Ephraim Cohen, 34, is co-ownerand partner of The Fortex Group, a communications firm in New YorkCity. His company has a strong focus on business in Southeast Asia,and the list of locations his employees work from sounds likesomething out of National Geographic. There is a full-time employeein India, a virtual office in Singapore, three people working parttime out of home offices on the West Coast, and several New YorkCity office workers who frequently work out of their homes. Cohenhimself falls into this last category.
