I graduated from high school in 1970, a time of tumultuouschange in the United States and the world. Like many of mygeneration, I wanted to make a difference. I went to journalismschool because I believed a career in journalism would help mechange the world.
Changing the world--it's a heady idea thinking one group ofpeople can have such a significant impact on so many others. Butthe world did change back then in many ways. New attitudes, likebelieving you could be in charge of your own destiny or transform adream into reality, were born in the '60s and '70s and, inmany ways, led to the entrepreneurial surge in the '90s.
