Attracting and hiring talented employees without the funds to invest in big salaries can be a challenge for companies just starting out. We spoke with a number of business-incubator advisers and entrepreneurs to find out what strategies they use to find staff. Here are some of their suggestions to consider:

  • Look for college students, interns and consultants.
  • Seek out experienced professionals looking for opportunities in a smaller company.
  • Be open to new employees' ideas about the company.
