Five years since the financial crisis, as banks adjust to new regulations and a new breed of smart-phone-carrying customers -- opportunities in financial technology are plenty. We sat down with three entrepreneurs working in New York, all graduates of the FinTech Innovation Lab, an annual program run by the Partnership Fund for New York City and Accenture.
Yaron Samid is the founder of BillGuard, which has raised $13 million to date as it develops an app that helps consumers track charges on their credit-card statements. David Kedmey's EidoSearch helps portfolio managers research trade ideas; his Toronto-based startup has received grants from the Canadian government. Anand Sanwal is the co-founder of CB Insights, a venture-capital database that's received a $650,000 grant from the National Science Foundation.
