Investing in Infrastructure Helped Adafruit Industries Expand

Since Limor Fried was named our Entrepreneur of 2012, her company that was once based in a 3,000 square foot live-work space has moved to one almost ten times the size, all zoned for manufacturing to create her open-source electronic hardware kits. The move required investing in high-end, technical equipment that ensured Adafruit Industries has ultimate control over its products -- and its growth. 

Says Fried, "If we ever did want to outsource, it would be very easy because we know how to design for manufacturing."
