Barbara Corcoran wasn’t always a renowned business icon and television personality. At September's Ready to Launch event, she shared a story about her start as a real estate mogul, and what it takes to make the press pay attention.
While struggling for sales during a recession, she invented the Corcoran Report, a special marketing tool that positioned her as an authority while directing attention away from her low sales numbers. The results surprised even her and taught her an important lesson. Says Corcoran, “The little guy has a better shot at being an expert than the big guy.”
