While business ebbs and flows, your company’s values must remain steady. In a recent Google Hangout, editorial director Ray Hennessey chatted with a panel of business experts about why these values are important and how they can ground a company.

Integrity. Building trust is essential to creating a customer base, according to Chris Hernandez, of Hernandez Companies, a construction business based in Arizona. “We depend so much on repeat business. Our integrity has to be consistent all the time.”

Resilience. Small business comes with its ups and downs and can be extremely emotional, says Mauricio Simbeck, founder of wellness chain Milagros de Mexico. He says that with a set of core values, “Every time you have a down you can...bounce back.”
