Square filed for its long-expected IPO on Wednesday, requiring CEO Jack Dorsey to oversee transition at the mobile payments startup while he handling changes at Twitter, where he is also CEO. Meanwhile, the social network announced it will layoff about 8% of its global workforce, mostly in its product and engineering departments. Dorsey says this is in an effort to streamline operations.

Uber wants to become more than a ridesharing company. It launched its on-demand delivery service UberRush this week in San Francisco, Chicago and New York City. The transport company's new move could help small business most, writes our Cat Clifford.
