Companies, especially those with more than 100 employees, should not underestimate the importance of onboarding.
"When someone starts day one, and they're in the first couple of months, you're still recruiting them," says Matt Straz, founder and CEO of Namely, an HR and payroll platform. "The truth is, how that first 90 days goes will determine whether they stick around."
Straz says that within the past 10 to 15 years, a major shift has occurred in that as much as companies evaluate employees, employees are judging employers right back.
"No matter what size you are as a company, it's never too early to think about onboarding," Straz says.
