Impermanence is a real aspect of life that many people can't seem to accept -- because human beings naturally become attached to other people, animals, things, times and places.

But psychologist Megan Bruneau says that understanding that everything will come and go -- health, fitness, the weather and close relationships -- will help you to become a happier person.

"Of course it is important to have long relationships in one's life," she says. "But ultimately, either by death or by moving or by a breakup, relationships will end too. Grief is a part of life -- and that's normal and natural."
