If you've started a business, you're most likely one of those people with lots of grit and determination. But how do you use that grit to be great?

In this video from Entrepreneur Network partner Jessica Abo, authors Linda Kaplan Thaler and Robin Koval share advice from their book, Grit to Great: How Perseverance, Passion, and Pluck Take You from Ordinary to Extraordinary, in 10 tips. Here are a few: 

  • Delight in deprivation: Once a day, put all of your devices aside, and just think.
  • You have no expiration date: So what if something takes you 20 years? You're probably going to have five or six careers by the time you turn 100 (which is getting more and more likely that you will!)
  • Do versus dream: Now is the time, and we are the people. There's no time like the present to come up with a plan for what you want to do -- and execute it.
