In this video, Entrepreneur Network partner Bryan Elliott asks Shark Tank investor Barbara Corcoran for her best business advice.

Starting a business is difficult. To Corcoran, it's always easier to start from nothing -- that way, you have no expectations. You've got nothing to lose.

As a busy entrepreneur, Corcoran admits that she often doesn't have enough private time or work-life balance. To combat this, she lives by a strict rule of separating her business life from her personal life. When she's at work, she only answers work-related calls. When she gets home at 6:30 p.m., she puts her phone down and doesn't look at in until she leaves the house at 7:30 the next morning.

"When I'm with my kids, I'm there 150 percent. When I'm at work, I'm there 150 percent," she says.

The one thing that holds entrepreneurs back -- which held her back for five years -- is negative self talk. When an entrepreneur takes rejection personally and internalizes it, the self-doubt brings you down. If you can avoid this, you're on a path to success.
