Amazon Announces Startups Participating in its Alexa Accelerator Program

Amazon’s Alexa Accelerator announced which companies made the cut for its 13-week startup program. Amazon’s $100-million Alexa Fund partnered up with TechStars to create the Alexa Accelerator, a program that supports entrepreneurs and early-stage startups advancing voice-power technologies. Participants will receive an investment from TechStars and the Alexa Fund as well as mentorship from Amazon team members.

Desktop Metal, a 3D printing startup company raised $115 million in a series D round led by New Enterprise Associates. The unicorn company is valued at over $1 billion with a long list of impressive investors. The latest round of funding will enable the company to grow globally.

Syte.Ai, a leading visual search engine that makes images shoppable, closed a series A round of $8 million. Gone are the days of searching the internet for the skirt Katy Perry wore on her recent vacation. Syte.Ai will not only find that skirt for you, but also recommend alternative items once you realize it’s way out of your price range, or out of stock.
